I can’t believe the day is finally here. Today is the day I embark on my solo traveling journey. All the months of planning and all the work involved to plan this trip are finally being paid off to put into good use. As for how everything will go according to plan we shall see but I’m feeling excited as well as a little bit anxious as I have no idea what it’s going to be like solo travelling.
This is my first trip travelling post covid and having arrived at the international airport everything seems to be revamped to minimise the number of employees. There were no long lines for check-in anymore. I was able to check in online 48 hours before the trip and was given a QR code for my boarding pass for both my flights. Upon arriving at the airport there were self-serve kiosks where u can use your digital boarding pass to generate the baggage tags and then put the bags in the loading area. It’s quite efficient in total it took me less than 45 minutes to complete check-in and do a complete security check for my baggage. After completing my check-in I had to say buy to my parents who dropped me off at the airport it was quite emotional anyways here is a photo of me at the departure sign:

Since I arrived to the airport 3 hours early that gave me 2 hours to kill and spent it writing parts of this blog. As for the flight to Changi airport, it was alright being stuck for 7 hours on the plane was quite boring. To be honest, I spent most of the time just watching random movies. I started with watching doctor strange again then started watching spirited away which was an entertaining way to kill some time. As for the food on the flight for my first meal, I chose beef and mashed potatoes and not gonna lie it was terrible but I forced myself to eat it. We were given dessert afterward which was ice cream and that was honestly the highlight of the food were given. Now I remember that I do not miss airplane food. After landing I’ve never felt so exhausted in my life my legs were sore from sitting down too long but with 5 hours to kill I had to do something.

I wanted to go to the Jewel however I was afraid since it was night time it wouldn’t be as good and that would mean I would have to exit the transit area and part of me couldn’t be bothered to go through the check-in process again. So I decided to walk around and go on a little food tour and find some good food.
So upon walking around I stumped a hawker center in the airport and honestly looked interesting so I decided to order some food. I order some HK-style braised beef brisket with noodles and honestly, to say the least it was kinda average. It wasn’t anything special
One of the things I wanted to try was Kayan Toast a signature Singapore dish but after walking around to a few cafes seem like non of the places made it and I eventually gave up and settled for 7/11 food. The 7/11 food was alright I end up getting an onigiri with aburi eel which was alright and the famous addicting Irvin salted fish skins honestly they didn’t taste as good as I remembered them so not quite sure if it was because I had unrealistic expectations or they just as great as they’re hyped out to be. So that concludes my food tour adventure.

On the final leg of the trip getting on the flight from Changi Airport to Osaka International Airport, it was nice that after the next 6 hours, I’ll be in Japan. What I didn’t know is that those 6 hours would be the most uncomfortable trips of my life. I was unfortunate and end up sitting next to someone who took up so much space that they end up invading my area since it was a night flight and everyone was sleeping it made it so difficult to sleep. So basically I didn’t end up sleeping at all that trip meant I had to survive my next day being super tired. As for the food on the flight, it was kinda similar to the last flight I decided to get chicken with rice and vegetables and I thought honestly that dish was impossible to screw up but I was wrong they added some sauce that made it worse the only good thing about that dish was the egg. It tasted really good it was sweet and fluffy which was nice. After landing I have never been happy in my entire life to be on the ground, first of all, I get to get out of this restricted plane and second of all I’m finally in Japan again. Little did I know I would run into some hiccups that I didn’t expect. I’ll talk about it in the next post.
